History of the AICA GROUP

We are a family owned business originated from Quillabamba, a city located in La Convencion Valley (Cusco - Peru). Our origin date back to the 60s, when Ubaldino, the patriarch of the Arriola family began selling locally products like parchment coffee, cacao, annatto seeds and turmeric. All of these products coming from the fertile lands of La Convention.

With the support of the second generation, the Arriola family sets out new challenges for the company: Processing and export products directly. To achieve this, the first step was taken in May 1989 when they establish the company Agroindustrial y Comercial Arriola e Hijos S.A. (AICA S.A.), achieving the first exports of green coffee beans.

The growth in business, plus the constant diversification of products and services make the company specializes on each field. And so emerge our three sister companies:

• AICASA EXPORT S.A. : Processing and export of coffee beans.
• AICACOLOR S.A.C. : Processing ans export of natural colors.
• TRANSQUILLA S.A.C. : Inland transport.

Today AICA S.A. is dedicated to trade and supplying of raw materials such as parchment coffee, annatto seeds, turmeric, among others. The increasing demand for Peruvian coffee motivated us to expand our operation area, now we also have offices operating in the central jungle: Chanchamayo Valley (Junin - Peru).
AICASA EXPORT S.A. is one of the leading exporters of Peru green coffee beans to the market. We have a long path and seriousness in business inherited from our parent company (Aica S.A.).

By 2008, AICASA EXPORT S.A. obtained the organic coffee farm certification, as well as the organic processor certification for our plant located in Lima. This certifications allows us to offer organic coffee to the american and european markets. All this achieved with investment in our human capital, constant training to small growers and hard work.

Through the storage centers and our presence in different zones of Peru, we have established strategic alliances with producers, these centers have enabled us to carry out projects that have as some objectives the improvement of the coffee quality, increase in productivity and consequently a better economy for the grower.
We hope to continue growing much more in business, as professionals, as persons.

Our Mission:
We develop the skills of our growers to improve their living conditions, taking care of mother earth, thus supplying healthy beans to the coffee industry.

Our Vision:
To provide value-added foods worldwide, certified with the highest quality parameters keeping our sustainable and fair phylosophy.
Despite the fact that our conventional coffees (Grades 1, 2 and 3) are not certified as organic, AICASA EXPORT S.A. works and promotes an ecological agriculture with all its coffees, especially those coming from La Convencion Valley.

In case of organic coffee, we assist the small producers improving their farming practices, eliminating the use of agro-chemicals, replacing them with the compost of the same farm - made of coffee pulp - one of nature's best mulches and soil amendments.

Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development

One of the main interests of AICASA EXPORT S.A. is to promote a high yield agriculture and improve the coffee quality with its "Direct Deal Program (PTD by its spanish acronym), through which it provides training and technical assistance to all the small growers.

AICASA EXPORT S.A. since its begining has maintained and developed a closer relationship with coffee farmers. It has enabled us to improve the quality of farming and getting a certification that guarantees a 100% organic agriculture, respects the biodiversity avoiding the use of GM seeds and noxious agro-chemicals to the ecosystem.

Today more than ever AICASA EXPORT S.A. is committed to its country and especially to its region.
